10 Years Of Trading At SashWise
It’s April and that’s good for many reasons. The beginning of beautiful Spring, Easter Eggs and of course this year, 10 Years of Trading for SashWise. We are seriously excited about such a great start to the year and really excited to share with you a bit of a story to give you some background about where we’ve come in the last decade.
In 2007 we were seeking a new challenge and seeing a gap in the market Director Dan Johnston left his role as a Project Manager at the BBC and established SashWise. The key aim was to provide a local tailor-made sash window service, focusing on quality products and high-level craftsmanship.
Working out of an old pickup truck and drumming up business through leafleting Dan and SashWise soon picked up momentum and an excellent reputation locally for delivering a high quality friendly service at a very competitive price.
As SashWise continued to grow the old pickup truck gave way to a new van; the SashWise website was launched and a second pair of hands was required. In 2010, Tim a vastly experienced window fitter joined SashWise.
SashWise’s reputation spread into neighbouring boroughs and soon became recognised as one of the leading sash window specialists in West London. A second van was purchased, shortly followed by a third, and in 2013 Barrie a highly skilled carpenter joined the team.
With the business growing Dan was very conscious not too lose sight of the original goal of providing quality workmanship and attention to detail as the range of services provided by SashWise expanded; with full sash window refurbishment playing a prominent element. A workshop in Twickenham was acquired in 2014, from which SashWise could carry out its heritage renovation work and Devin a dedicated window restorer joined the team.
Through advances in glass manufacturing and timber production, SashWise continually develops the services and products that it offers and 2016 saw the launch of a new website.
2017 sees SashWise celebrating it’s 10th Birthday. The old pickup truck seems a long way away but the goal of providing a quality sash window service using only the best materials and highly skilled craftsmanship continues to underpin the work SashWise does. Here’s to another 10 years!
