Full Refurbishment – Barnes

In early 2010 we undertook the full refurbishment of the original sash windows of this property in Barnes, West London.

When you have a home with 16 sash windows, 11 of which are at least 1m x 1.5m, they are in poor condition and are letting out heat in the winter, careful consideration around what you should do with them and who you should look to work with are critical. After 5 quotes ranging from total replacements to part renovation, I chose SashWise.
Dan Johnston clinched the deal by examining each window and explaining what he believed he could do to improve their condition and function expressing his ethos: we’ve got to love our sash windows! I had struggled with the idea of throwing these windows out as other sash window companies had advised me. Apart from the fair and competitive price, as a conservationist and lover of all old crafted objects, I sensed that I would be dealing with a company offering a tailored solution and craftsmanship.
To finish the job and put my mind at rest following a recent attempted break in, Dan and his team fitted effective, elegant and unobtrusive security locks, which offer exceptional security and peace of mind.
This was a significant project, managed by SashWise in an organised and methodical way, in a reasonable timeframe. What was clear to me was the team’s commitment to getting the job done to the highest standards and with a level of respect to my home unusual of many decorators/tradesmen these days. A great job and company: I have already recommended Dan and his team to 3 individuals considering similar projects.
