Paint finishes
We use the highest quality internal and external paint finishes for all of our windows. With over ten years of experience, we have tried and tested many finishes to discover the best in terms of aesthetics and durability.
New windows
As standard, we apply four spray coats of Teknos FUTURA AQUA 20 to all of our new joinery made sash windows. Teknos is an excellent wood finish, which uses the latest aqueous polymer technology. This provides many years of protection against penetrating frost, lashing rain, intense UV rays and damaging rot.
Existing window restoration
We have tried and tested a whole range of paint finishes from standard trade paints such as Dulux through to high-end paints like Farrow and Ball. From our experience, when restoring original sash windows, we have found the following combination to be the best both in terms of aesthetics and durability:
Internal surfaces are finished using the Little Green’s Intelligent Eggshell. A low sheen finishes with exceptional durability. Formulated to resist moisture, staining and general wear and tear and is environmentally friendly.
We finish external surfaces with Zinsser AllCoat Exterior Gloss which is an ultimate performance, mould resistant paint that offers supreme protection to exterior wood surfaces. Zinsser AllCoat Exterior Gloss forms a vapour-permeable, low maintenance water-shedding coating. It gives excellent resistance against cracking, blistering and flaking. The tough finish is resistant to rain and severe weather and offers excellent colour retention, in addition the paint contains a biocide to protect the dried coating against mould and mildew.
For a small surcharge, we can custom colour your windows to match any existing woodwork or desired colour.
